Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse is the perfect venue to test your appetite for meat. For some, it can really be overwhelming but if you are a natural foodie, then it’s just going to be one of those days where you will probably overly indulge and then have a cup of hot tea afterwards.
Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse is a well-known restaurant in Marikina. They opened up their second branch in UP Town Center where I, together with friends, happily devoured some of their best-sellers and new additions to the menu. The UPTC branch is big enough to house up to 80 people who will come in hungry and surely leave with happy tummies — THAT I CAN VOUCH FOR!
Layers of BBQ nachos, smoked pulled pork, smoked bacon, salsa, and jalapeños, all drizzled with their homemade cheese sauce, BBQ sauce, and Alabama BBQ sauce. Funny because this was supposed to be one of the starters but we actually ended up munching this after we had the mains. The serving is pretty generous and we were surprised to learn that the one we’re trying to finish for a while is actually just the ‘half’ Nachos. This can make around 4-6 people happy but, you can also get the ‘whole’ for Php 600.
Deep fried sliced dill pickles coated in panko and corn crust, served with an Alabama-style BBQ sauce. I’m really not a huge fan of pickles but, it’s quite interesting to know that they serve one for appetizer. It’s not new to their menu but it’s definitely a new choice of starter to me!
Deep fried chicken livers marinated in buttermilk, coated with their homemade BBQ rub, served with Piedmont sauce and Alabama BBQ sauce. This one was very sinful in every way but we could all agree that it was a hell of a starter! A must try even for people like me who doesn’t eat liver. Well, there’s always a first time! LOL
Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse got a few additions to the menu and we were more than happy to be the first few people to try it. These new starters, Bacon Mac and Cheese Poppers (Php 195) and Brisket Burrito Bites (Php 185), are legit heavy tummy fillers. They’re both really good but since these are just appetizers, you need to prepare for a so much more satiating mains. The Bacon Mac and Cheese Poppers deserve a shout out for its oozing cheese that is so addicting!
A combination of Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse’s best selling meats — Smoked Hot Links, Smoked Pulled Pork Shoulder, Smoke Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken BBQ, Smoked Pork Ribs, Chiquito’s Grilled Corn, Bacon and Chives Muffin, Sesame Coleslaw, and 4 servings of plain rice. Now this is what we’re talking about! Never knew that heaven can be found in a platter!
Homemade hot link sausage stuffed with their own blend of pork and spices, slow smoked for 4 hours, served with dill pickles and coleslaw. These thick sausages have flavourful spices that are exploding in every bite which made it become one of my favorites from ‘The Smokers.’
This fried seafood platter is only available this Lenten season, so grab one while it’s available! The serving is good for sharing and it also has fish and chips on the side which it makes it very bri’ish! Their sauces are perfect to add flavors to their dishes, so make sure to try all of them!
Two quarter pound beef patties cooked to your preference topped with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cheddar cheese, bacon strips, deep fried pulled pork, dressed with chipotle mayo and BBQ, all served in a sesame bun with potato chips on the side. I COULDN’T SAY ANY WORD. After you finish this by yourself, not sure if you still have space to try the rest! Just by looking at the photo, it makes me already full! LOL
Caramel Drizzled Banana Pudding – a mix of butter bread, milk, eggs, and fresh banana, baked and topped with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce. — the vanilla ice cream was not available that time so they used whipped cream instead.
Pecan Pie – buttery pastry crusted pie filled with a mixture of egg yolk, brown sugar, and chopped pecans, baked to perfection and topped with roasted pecans. — this was the crowds’ favorite but it was actually me and Julie who finished most of it. LOL.
Bacon and S’mores Dip – semi sweet chocolate ganache mixed with smoke bacon strips, layered with melted marshmallows, served with graham crackers. — they just can’t help but to add meat even in the dessert, and it actually worked! Not sure about the ‘semi sweet’ part because this one is definitely for the people with a sweet tooth.
The Spicy BBQ Sauce and Mustard Sauce are both available for purchase. I was planning to get the Spicy BBQ Sauce but it slipped out of mind! It’s perfect for any smoked dish or any dry meat dish you prepare at home or anywhere. I’ll make sure to get myself one when I’m around the area!
Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse also serve liquors and their ‘Smokes’ can be paired perfectly with their booze, let’s add the cozy vibes that will surely make you feel at home and so it makes the ideal Friday/weekend night out place. Be sure to come in with a purpose – that is to feel happy and feel satisfied.
