Leann’s Tea House

Korea has great influence to us Filipinos that it is unquestionably affecting some people’s way of life, may it be the way they dress and accessorise or the way they wanna spend their idle time by binge watching over KDramas. But of course, let us not disremember the thriving food scene that promotes Korean cuisine which is honestly making a lot of us happy! I know how it feels when you are watching a KDrama and then suddenly crave for Korean BBQ (or anything Korean!), and that is why I am grateful for Korean restaurants that are offering unlimited Korean BBQ because they know exactly what we need!

My exploration with different Korean restaurants is not about to end any time soon! I have my favourites, yes, but that doesn’t really mean I’m not open to trying out other restaurants. And recently, I was invited to try Leann’s Tea House in QC area. At first, I thought it was a Chinese restaurant but after searching it in Zomato, there I saw that they actually serve what we all love –KOREAN! Yay!

By default, Korean restaurants serve Banchan or side dishes. The experience will never be complete without these as they are necessary to serve as complements, contrasts, and condiments, though you might encounter different kinds of banchan from different restaurants. To my experience, never have I ever dined in a Korean restaurant that doesn’t serve Kimchi, like duh? LOL 😀

Originally, Leann’s Tea House offers Unlimited Samgyeopsal (Pork Belly) for Php 349 and Unlimited Samgyeopsal & Woosamgyeop (Pork Belly & Beef Belly) for Php 449, but SOON they will be introducing few more cuts that are marinated and included in the all-you-can-eat promo for the same price! That makes the grilling and Korean BBQ experience more exciting! Don’t you agree?

Leann’s Tea House has been in the business for a couple of years now, and it’s just about time to add something new in the menu. People, especially loyal customers, will surely have smiles on their faces and sparkle in their eyes once they get to try the new cuts — Spicy Pork, Spicy Woosamgyeop, and Beef Bulgogi. So happy to be one of the first few people to try! But let me give you a tip since I’m a frequent eater of Korean BBQ (LOL but true!): I ALWAYS TAKE THE BEEF AND RARELY ORDER PORK! Of course, like everyone else, I wanna get the most out of the amount I’m paying for and that means eating as much as I really can, and there is no better way to do it than to go viking over the beef variety! Now you have a hint of what I ate most in my recent visit at Leann’s, it’s the Woosamgyeop, Spicy Woosamgyeop and Beef Bulgogi.

Hameul Pajeon | Php 300

Another reason to love Leann’s Tea House is that they also serve some a la carte. If you don’t feel like eating unlimited Korean BBQ, then you may opt to order some of Korea’s popular dishes such as this Hameul Pajeon or Seafood Pancake perfect for appetizer!

Cheese Buldak | Php 320

The Korean word ‘bul‘ means fire and ‘dak‘ means chicken, so you can call this dish of Leann’s Tea House as the fire chicken with cheese. This is a classic Korean dish and the first time I tried this was in Seoul and even though it was winter that time, it really made me and my friends sweat. So fiery! This is for the people who loves spicy food!

Bibimbap | Php 210

I know some people whose default order in Korean restaurants is the Bibimbap, because why not? You get everything you need in one big stone bowl (dolsot) — rice, meat, egg, and assorted vegetables. It isn’t a complicated dish and ideal for people who loves to eat their food while piping hot! I finished this bowl together with the Woosamgyeop. Yum!

I never had a bad experience with a Korean restaurant as far as I can remember and I hope it stays that way. Leann’s Tea House, being one of them, is worth the visit. In fact, I will definitely bring my Korean BBQ buddies (my cousins!) here once they officially announce that they are serving the new meats! And oh! I almost forgot to mention that they also serve incredible house tea! Well, it’s a “Tea House” after all.
