There’s always a story behind every Foodie Meet Up (FMU) and our recent visit at Skewered in Alabang really put our regular commuting skills to the test. It was quite an adventure, actually. We were supposed to take the P2P bus from Starmall Shaw to Alabang, but it wasn’t available by the time we were leaving and so we ended up taking a regular commuter bus. Anxious at first, but we managed to get to our destination without any sign of damage. LOL. And need I mention, the struggle is real! Oh! And there was never a dull moment on the bus with my crazy foodie buddie, Julie. 😀
Fat Fook Kitchen is a homegrown concept with a wide and excellent menu selection of authentic Taiwanese Style Cuisine and comfort food – from street food to traditional dishes, all in generous serving size. Their varieties are the result of Rachel Kao‘s, the Executive Chef, effort to bring a piece of her hometown in Taiwan here in our country, the Philippines. She carefully crafted each recipe that will surely appeal to the taste buds of Filipinos and at the same time, continuously trying to add a dash of Taiwan’s modern cooking techniques to Fat Fook Kitchen’s menu, enhancing the flavour of the traditional cuisine and giving the customers a new experience.
When I drive, I make sure that I pay attention on the road not just for the sole reason of defensive driving but to spot newly opened restaurants or cafes that are new to me. I’m on a continuous pursuit of happiness and trying out different food places is definitely one of my life’s greatest pleasures. I worked for almost 4 years in Boni, Mandaluyong and driving around Pioneer made me discover a few nearby cafes/restaurants that are worth the visit. Some of them are Mozaic Living, Joey Pepperoni, The Giving Cafe, etc. Tasty Tucker, being one of the few, already caught my attention few years back, but I never had the chance to actually pay a visit and it’s probably because of the not-so-inviting facade of the cafe. So when Zomato invited me over, it immediately rang a bell and since I was free that time, I said YES!
Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse is the perfect venue to test your appetite for meat. For some, it can really be overwhelming but if you are a natural foodie, then it’s just going to be one of those days where you will probably overly indulge and then have a cup of hot tea afterwards.
It’s been more than a year since my last day hike and I feel so nervous and excited at the same time that I’m finally doing it again. The previous one was Mt. Balagbag and I will never forget that experience. There was a clear trail to the summit so a guide isn’t really necessary. We started out before lunch and it was excruciatingly hot and it served as a lesson to all of us. Crazy!
