There’s always a story behind every Foodie Meet Up (FMU) and our recent visit at Skewered in Alabang really put our regular commuting skills to the test. It was quite an adventure, actually. We were supposed to take the P2P bus from Starmall Shaw to Alabang, but it wasn’t available by the time we were leaving and so we ended up taking a regular commuter bus. Anxious at first, but we managed to get to our destination without any sign of damage. LOL. And need I mention, the struggle is real! Oh! And there was never a dull moment on the bus with my crazy foodie buddie, Julie. 😀
I am still asking myself, “Why now?” Why did I just learn about this restaurant now? Why not sooner? Why not as soon as it opened its doors circa 2016? It’s probably because I was busy with my life (all aspects of it) and I didn’t have the time to explore Poblacion itself or, perhaps, it was lacking good marketing that time. I don’t know! What I’m sure about is that Taperia Poblacion is one heck of a restaurant serving Filipino-Spanish dishes that brings heaven to you!
Korea has great influence to us Filipinos that it is unquestionably affecting some people’s way of life, may it be the way they dress and accessorise or the way they wanna spend their idle time by binge watching over KDramas. But of course, let us not disremember the thriving food scene that promotes Korean cuisine which is honestly making a lot of us happy! I know how it feels when you are watching a KDrama and then suddenly crave for Korean BBQ (or anything Korean!), and that is why I am grateful for Korean restaurants that are offering unlimited Korean BBQ because they know exactly what we need!
Fat Fook Kitchen is a homegrown concept with a wide and excellent menu selection of authentic Taiwanese Style Cuisine and comfort food – from street food to traditional dishes, all in generous serving size. Their varieties are the result of Rachel Kao‘s, the Executive Chef, effort to bring a piece of her hometown in Taiwan here in our country, the Philippines. She carefully crafted each recipe that will surely appeal to the taste buds of Filipinos and at the same time, continuously trying to add a dash of Taiwan’s modern cooking techniques to Fat Fook Kitchen’s menu, enhancing the flavour of the traditional cuisine and giving the customers a new experience.
